Death in the Family
From Twilight Realms Wiki
The yearly diplomatic gathering was held in Kahzara in the year 908. The young council, after exiling anyone over the age of 30, sent out invitations to a lot of the countries. The first arrivals were the Dalcimeer and Helvettians, who brough with them a small contingent of their army. There they met Shokara, a Priestess and would be ruler of the land, and Osiris the leader of the Diplomatic core of Kahzarans. Also the Kahzaran army was run by a General Valmos of Brindle, why such a disreputable individual was allowed this control is unknown especially after the fracas with the Chevellian Navy though it is put down to the naivety of youth.
Those that travelled to the location deep in the mountains, at the borders of Kahzara, Dalcimeer and Helvettia, were met by bandits whose accent was so thick that they could only be from Equil probably of the Gil branch. The event started off with the usual understanding or misunderstandings of cultures but soon grew into paranoia as the Talagians arrived and objects went missing.
Weapons were the main stolen items but there was a golden monkey that was placed in the Kahzaran shrine that vanished as well (and as the proceedings continued carried on appearing and disappearing). Naturally the Talagians were blamed but surprisingly they were innocent. Again throughout the night and following day various weapons went missing only to return again in another room. The delegates discovered that none of the other delegates were involved as it was the minions of some unknown individual trying to divide the countries. This tactic is nothing new as a seeming reoccurring one in many a diplomatic gathering.
Apart from the main hall there was also an inn and some of the delegates, without prompting, decided to pay the inn a visit. To their surprise there was a contingent of elder Kahzarans , who most folk thought had been exiled. From the conversations that followed it would seem the elder Kahzarans sought to re-establish themselves back as the Kahzaran Council with the priestess Shokara as the Queen. Also discovered the current youthful leaders were influenced by an unknown third person and it was this person the Councillors blame for the murder of their tribal family members.
As the night ended it was discovered that the mysterious person had sent one of his minions to infect the elders with a disease. The statesmen were infected by managed to resolve this by the morning through unknown means.
Other delegates arrived that next day, from Nadar, concerned over the tales of disease and Chevellians. Also a contingent or Orcs arrived and, rumours are unclear here, were accidentally killed in a fire in the inn. Tales of the fire being started by the Helvettians, sworn enemies of the Orcs, and even the involvement of a fire-loving young child are circulating but the facts are unclear.
The day progressed with negotiations over trade occurring throughout the day. The name of the mysterious third person was discovered. Barcari, as they learnt, was a powerful mage of unknown type and had a fear of growing old. He needed a potion which would, so it was figured, help him achieve youth. This was dug up by the children in the care of Scarlett, a Talagian.
When Bacari turned up later that evening to obtain the potion and the Elders he was met by the delegates of Helevttia, Dalcimeer and the councillors. Bacari was aided ny a mummy he managed to bring back to life and some unknown creatures. Some said they were ghouls but these creatures wielded swords which ghouls do not do. Where would Bacari obtain such creatures or did he create them?
Bacardi’s forces were too much for the assembled defenders and the delegates had to rapidly redeploy elsewhere, the Helvettians took Osiris and Shokara with them whilst the others left to their own forces. Unfortunately the elders did not make it.
