A strong willed femal Lord of the nation of Kyushu (it was quickly discovered that the Kyushan's consider the word 'Lady' to have far different connotations), Lord Sumi was first met on O'Talag during the trade negotiations.
This stern warrior was an obvious leader of the group and admitted to being a Lord of the "Mantis" Clan in her own lands.
Lord Sumi's might and fury with one of the unusual Kyushan longswords, was bared for all to see during the Stand at the Weeping Tree. As well as during an alteraction earlier in the day with a Talag Shipsman who dared raise his voice to her.
It was openly admitted that she was held in greater esteem than her countryman Akita, and that the Emperor favoured her clan more.
