The Dust Plains

A semi-arid steppe land generally characterised by rangeland or marginal farmland. This region is periodically subjected to extended periods of drought; high winds that may then generate devastating red dust storms.
Despite this the place is a haven for many bandit groups. Most of the groups are known for their large hats which protect them from the dust and heat of the plains. They have an intense rivalry with their 'cousins' which are based near to the mountainous regions.
It has been said that numerous bandit groups have migrated from the plains and mountains into other countries. Recent sightings in the Kahzaran mountains near to the border of Equil, Dalcimeer and Kahzara have been substantiated by local Kahzarans fleeing from the unrest in their country and the armies of Dalcimeer and Helvettia. Small skirmishes between scouting groups and these bandits were to have taken place during a visitation to Kahzara by a few nations
