Trade summit
From Twilight Realms Wiki
After years of silence Brindle finally spoke.
Much was said of Brindles' absence from the Tempress Trade Meeting earlier in the year 904. The Trade Meet was, it was hoped, a new beginning for the world with the long animosity between nations finally being put to rest. While there is a long way to go for peace, the first steps were made.
Brindle however did not respond to the invite of King Myloch Finriss Ethica Myste of Nadar to attend the meeting and did not show at the event itelf.
During the Great War, Brindle men and women were widespread, fighting in armies on both sides. The fearless nature of the Brindle and their heroic deeds earned them a respect that few nations had.
Their absence at the talks dented this reputation.
Fortunately the leader of Brindle, Regent Father Xelec, appeared to be working hard to repair the damage and invited the leaders of the nations to Brindle itself as a prelude to further talks and perhaps the reintegration of Brindle into the larger community.
The events at Brindle Trade Summit were complicated, the views of those involved are myriad and it can be argued biased. It took place at the halls of Dariss on the western coast of Brindle. It would seem the delegates were attacked by the same creatures responsibly for the beast attacks in Pillai. At some point the delegates investgated the ongoing events which took them to a library whereupon a Library Demon was summoned by some of the delegates actions. This was known as a Library Demon because opf King Myloch's knoweldge of Demonology in which he has apparently written many a treatise. Other events that occurred were linked to the Avatar Soore which, it would seem, had taken over the body or mind of Xelec.
When this revelation became apparent there was much discussion about what to do. The elves huddled in their rooms for discussion whilst the rest of the nations talked together. It was later revealed that the elven plan was to fight the avatar Soore. This staement, made in an off hand manner, worried the other nations as if the Elves have the power to fight an avatar of the Gods then what else were they capable of.
Circumstances avoided this plan though how the avatar soore was dealt with is unknown. The human nations stated it was a ritual lead by Obollox that helped, the elves stated it was their mysterious magical manueverings that did it. Some state it was actually the avatar Soore that decided the action by leaving which resulted in the death of Regent Father Xelec. Before this incident, at a banquet held for the delegates, Xelec had named Rupert - illegitimate heir to the throne - as his successor and King. This announcement was made in front of the representatives from Chevel, Equil, Dalcimeer, Nadar, Helvettia, Pillai, and Kahzara. Shortly after Xelec, and the new King Rupert were found dead by Brindle officials and their bodies burned.
Brindle will doubtless be left in turmoil, as preparations were already under way for Brindle's army to march north on The Wild Lands. It is unclear whether they were planning this before Brindle came out of hiding is unsure.
In response to Xelec's plans of war the Wild Lands sent representatives direct to his court. While the Orcs spoke in their own tongue a translator was able to deliver the simple message. "Come and get us"
"There can be no talk of peace," the translator continued "For if you do not march on us, then we will march through the lands of Helvettia, Dalcimeer and Pillai to get you" The orcish envoy refused any offer of hospitality and were quickly removed by Xelec.
The delegates of the nations of Tempress left Brindle with the sobering thought that preperations are underway for war. Before he died Xelec made it clear that war against the Wild Lands was the only way forward. Now for the first time in hundreds of years, the armies of Brindle are looking outside their own borders.
With the death of Xelec, the General Finbar made talk of peace, but the reality is that Brindle will soon find a new leader and that leader will follow his heart in either conquest or peace. Just as no one can ignore the Brindle peoples devotion to Dariss the god of war, no one can ignore that the world is about to change.
Also let it be said that the Declaration of Independance was no great surprise to some of the Countries Leader's gathered there as stirrings from the previous Trade Summit had indicated all was not well from the Elven nations.
