Background

Maria Fagan is an accomplished musician an entertainer who generally only uses her stage name Harmony Pure. Born and raised on the mainland, Maria was the daughter to elven mother Loreena Fagan and human father Bryce Fagan, both established adventurers on the mainland. Her parents, along with a number of others are known as reliable and fierce monster killers. Loreena Fagan is a incredibly skilled fighter, Bryce Fagan a wizard of considerable power.
Maria wanted to get away from the reputation and life crafted by her parents. So, she set off on a ship to the new land of Myste-Hass with her families blessing and her new stage name - Harmony Pure.

Mind Flayer Incarceration

After leaving the mainland, the ship ported on the island of Grenhome near Myste-Hass. After spending a month there, earning a pittance and not being spotted by anyone, she set out on the southern path the the more industrious town of Myth Water. Along the way, singing and humming the tunes of your youth, a hooded figure approached from the opposite direction. She felt a sharp pain in her head, the world floating and spinning for a moment before collapsing on the floor. A slender, purple tentacle reached out as she fell unconscious.
She woke in a small 10x10 room, no windows, walls made from rock, as well as the floor and ceiling, all smooth to the touch. Sets of manacles lined the room both at ground level and about 8 foot above them. All of her equipment was missing, and what seem like hours passed, with the occasional sound of screaming and footsteps passing the door. The only source of light was a glowing orb in the ceiling, a dim red glow coming from it.
The door opened, and the same hooded figure entered the room. The manacles opened, and a purple tentacle came from under a long sleeve, beckoning her to stand and follow. The individual glided along a long, open corridor, doors along both sides, and then through a cylindrical tunnel, sloping upwards into another long room, the walls inset with small chambers with glass doors, curious different people and creatures standing behind them. Their faces were seemingly etched in pain, but with blank eyes, lumps bulging from their necks, with elongated lumps going down their arms. Orbs lined the ceiling, some twenty-feet above, dim, purple light emitting from them. The person lead her to the center of the room, through another cylindrical corridor, sloping up, and into a smaller chamber. A small font stood in the centre, a clear, thick liquid inside. They lead her through another tunnel, the same as before, into a larger, grander chamber. Rock shelves went around the room, with a number of arched doorways leading out of it. A number of luxurious looking chairs lined the room. In another corridor on the far left they headed, and into another small tunnel, leading to a small chamber. Pictures lined the wall, from floor to ceiling.
A number of music stands stood in front, with Harmony's equipment neatly piled on one side. Her prized flute sat on one of the stands. They gestured for Harmony to go to it and take it, a compelling feeling flowing through her when she hesitated. She started playing, the tension easing, the hooded figure standing, motionless. Harmony finished her first tune, a voice in her head whispering, 'beautiful I think is the word.'
The hood slowly fell, revealing a purple head, small, glowing eyes with tentacles coming from where his top lip would be.
A strange relationship forms between this individual and Harmony in the time she was imprisoned. Eventually, the manacles are not applied, and her bed is moved into her room. After a while, she is allowed to take her flute back with her, then a music stand, various sheets of music. Food and water is regularly provided to the room. She is led to the room on a regular basis, each time staying, playing tunes on the flute, her lute and other instruments.
The creature is called Usdilt, and was one of the nine. He has been assigned to study the arts, learning how to play a multitude of instruments, writing some alien sounding, but engaging music. He revealed the majority of the paintings are his work, some are of the mainland, some depicting fights between orcs and others of his kind, some are of things and creatures Harmony has never seen before. He has asked Harmony to help him come up with a suitable stage name for himself.
Due to the relative comfort, and regular food, Harmony has full hp, no exhaustion, and 1 of her instruments. Despite forming a bond, he has not given you all of your equipment back, but is stored in his room. You have also spied a number of other instruments in there, some of a quality that you would die for.

Freedom

Eventually, adventurers broke into the prison freeing Harmony, alongside a number of incarcerated individuals. She then joined with this unlikely band of rag-tag adventurers, falling under the employment of Lahoto. This profession offers her more of the moral freedom and thrill that Harmony never got with her parents, but remains in the familiar adventurer territory that she is comfortable with. Now she stays with Castiel at the Moon and Stars Inn.
