Cockban

Cockban was the name of some kind of parasitic, hive-like entity that was living in Otogi. The host and parasite were incarcerated within the crypts below the Temple of Dariss, in the charge of Corym.

Otogi was captured in the underdark where a spider-like creature was affixed to his skull in the Temple of Garr. When removed, the parasite had already taken hold. With time, this parasite gained intelligence at a fierce rate and began to refer to itself as Cockban.

It said, "We are Cockban. We knew we had to keep our home safe but now it is empty. We know you." Talking to Datura, it said, "Home remembers you well. There is nothing in here. We heal. We reproduce. We spread.

"We have many thoughts and we know we are not where we are meant to be. But we also think we are where we are supposed to be but we’re far from our kind. We exist because of our home. We keep it well. It is difficult. Cockban knows the spider symbol from the underdark. Now he is gone we spread fast. We need more. All things onto exist. Before Cockban just fixed, healed but now Cockban is more."

The parasite then reverted into Otogi to discuss things with himself before adding, "We can leave. Some of us will always be home. Many rooms within home are filled with Datura. He will stay home for Datura. Cochban has much to learn. We live off the home, but home is broken. Something stops the meat from dying. We can operate the home."

The creature then admitted that no door can stop them. On hearing this information, Corym used radiant spells to completely destroy the creature and seal up the cell where he had been staying.
